Imagine my surprise when I walked in the salon and saw a chic young lady in an Audrey Hepburn updo behind the desk, in kitten heels and a darling cardigan. Assuming it was our newest talented hairdresser, I was about to speak when the door opened behind me, and a lovely young lady wearing perfect suede bottes and pistachio colored scarf came in the salon. MMMmmmm, then it dawned on me, one of our girls changed her hair, so sleek and chic, it changed her entire look. The other is our new stylist with an understated sophisticated look, one must see to appreciate.

Hat's off to Spring!

Hello! It's Lily! Can't hide my hair under my chapeau for much longer. Jessica gave some very good words of advice this morning. As we watched the rain pour down-oh, what fun she and I have for our Wash and Go over a cup of tea. When conditionaing at home, heat your hair a bit with the dryer, this opens the hair so the conditioner can enter the hair and opens the cuticle. Notice how a shower cap really can retain body heat too, keeping the warmth. After a few minutes, remove the shower cap and let your hair cool. This closes the hair shaft, capturing more conditioner. Today she used an oil with a nutty fragrance, it makes the hair dry a bit quicker and left my hair with movement and shine. One of her tricks is when making hair radiant with Chi Silk, begin at the back, apparently it makes it's own way to the front. Come in for a Wash and Go and make some one's day when your hair is the prettiest thing they see.

Buffed to a Shine!

Yooohooo! It's me, Lily! As I mentioned last week, as Tara left with swinging, shiny supermodel hair-and great boots and a bag I have been searching for since-her hair glowed. Then it was my turn, and my results were perfectly regal and shiny. The charming stylist explained that as you buff your nails for a natural healthy shine, buff your hair. She showed me her method, by sort of twirling the brush as she dried. I have always gone for the tug and stretch method, dull, dull, dull.

So I tried her twirling method, and Voila, hair that is smooth as silk and straight as baguettes-with shine and movement. A dab of Silk Infusion seems to, well...mmmmmm, it gilded the Lily!

So come into Lily's for what we call a Blow and Go for a mere $27, and let the stylist make you as pretty as you are smart.

In this play, Cupid is blind. But that is no reason not to look your best! Reading Mid-Summer Night's Dream is always a treat, the language is so clear and lyrical. Do you prefer Olivia de Havilland or Michelle Pfeifer as Helena? I prefer Olivia.

Oh, apologies, where are my manners? I'm Lily, come and sit next to me on the settee. Would you like some tea? Tea goes so well in my salon, so intimate, and the decor is so ladylike, from another decade. Erin helped me with the interiors, oooh, I love her eye, and her warehouse! Oh yes, back to appearances. How does your hair look? Anyone can benefit from a deep conditioning and having the scissors kiss your ends. The girls in my salon give hair a radiant silky finish with a wonderful serum made from fairy's tears. Oh, apparently it is from a company called Chi. Do come again for a visit. We'll talk color. Tara left here looking like Laurelhurst's version of Gisele. Her color flattered her skin, and the highlights caught your eye. Cupid really isn't blind.

After spending 2 weeks working at an orphanage in Udon Thani, Thailand, I am more than ever a fan of Fairy Tales Organic Lice Repellant Products!!

My mission team and I all used FT lice repellant during our trip. And I'm thankful such a product exists! 9 out of 10 kids at the orphanage had lice and nice so infested I could walk by and see it on their poor little heads without searching. At one point I had a sweet sleeping girl in my arms and I was picking bugs from her hair as she slept. Not only have I gotten over my lice phobia (phew!) I am amazed at our success of staying lice free. All 18 team members that went on this trip came home bug-less. Thank you Fairy Tales!
